Description

A clear line through the Thuringian Forest

Erlebnis-Rodelbahn Ruhla climbs a wooded hollow before descending across the open hillside. From the lower station, the rail follows the slope between forest edge, clearings and fir trees a few minutes from central Ruhla.

From the lift to the Steilstrecke

A 325-metre lift takes sleds to the high point. The descent combines bends, gradient changes and a section marked Steilstrecke, while each driver controls speed up to the stated 40 km/h.

The full course measures 900 metres with 111 metres of vertical difference. Its maximum gradient reaches 35%, giving the terrain a strong presence without hiding the forest panorama.

A self-contained attraction since 2009

The town inaugurated the run on 5 May 2009. It requires a dry surface: rain or a damp rail closes the attraction even during the published season.

The mini-a-thür miniature park is nearby but remains a separate destination. This page covers only the toboggan run, its loop and its position on the hillside.
