Biography

A family name tied to the seafront

The Miller family is closely linked with the modern development of Adventure Island. The family purchased the western land in 1976 and helped turn the site into Peter Pan’s Playground, before later expansion and renaming shaped the Adventure Island visitors know today.

For guests, that background explains why the park still feels strongly local: it is not just a set of rides by the sea, but a long-running Southend landmark that has grown with the town’s seafront identity.
