John F. “Jack” Krantz

John F. “Jack” Krantz was a Des Moines-area businessman and homebuilder credited with founding Adventureland Park and Resort in the 1970s. His idea grew from a family-oriented leisure concept into one of Iowa’s best-known amusement destinations.

His legacy is most visible in the park’s regional identity: a destination built for families, summer trips and repeat visits from local communities around central Iowa.
