The city that sustains the park

The City of Esch-sur-Alzette operates Escher Déierepark as a public facility on Gaalgebierg. It maintains a place open since 1962, free of charge and closely connected with the social and natural landscape of Luxembourgʼs second city.

A municipal service focused on living nature

Management brings together daily animal care, upkeep of wooded grounds, welcome and educational activities. The redesign begun in 2011, the educational farm and access improvements show a wish to let the park evolve without losing its simplicity.

Municipal stewardship also explains the links with Gaalgebus, leisure areas and wider Gaalgebierg projects: the park remains a shared public asset before it is a commercial destination.
