Port Discovery
A future imagined by explorers
Port Discovery represents a maritime research centre where science carries the optimistic colours of a world exposition. Weathered copper, domes, turbines and beacons form an architecture facing the water. DisneySea Electric Railway arrives above the quays as though this experimental city were already connected to the wider world.
A marina filled with phenomena
Aquatopia occupies two basins scattered with rocks, fountains and whirlpools; its unpredictable paths give the port its most visible movement. Nemo & Friends SeaRider places the Marine Life Institute inside StormRider’s former building and now takes the story into the miniature world of Nemo and Dory.
The loss of StormRider in 2016 remains a defining change: its storm hunters had anchored Port Discovery’s narrative since opening day. SeaRider preserved the building’s scientific purpose while replacing its imaginative world. Framed by railway, water and metal structures, the land still resembles a working harbour laboratory rather than an abstract science-fiction city.
