About this park
A mountain resort with a fixed adventure-park offer at Snowmass
Aspen Snowmass is not a conventional gated amusement park. It is a large Colorado mountain resort made of several mountains and villages, with winter skiing, summer sightseeing, biking, dining and outdoor activities. It is still relevant here because Snowmass includes a named, ticketed adventure area called Lost Forest, home to the fixed Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and several family adventure activities.
For visitors, the amusement-style experience is concentrated around Elk Camp on Snowmass. After taking the Elk Camp Gondola, guests reach an alpine playground with the coaster, climbing wall, ropes course, disc golf, fishing, hiking and children’s play features. The day feels very different from a classic theme park: the mountain, forest, altitude and views are part of the attraction.
How to visit
The most useful way to understand this destination is to separate the overall ski resort from the Lost Forest experience. Ski lifts, hiking trails and restaurants are part of a broader mountain operation, while the coaster and adventure activities are the pieces that behave like fixed visitor attractions. Because access depends on gondola operation, mountain weather and seasonal schedules, the official daily information should always be checked before travelling.
