Shingo is one of the most recognisable animals around Mara River Safari Lodge. The adult male stands out through his height, measured movement and curiosity when approaching platforms or visitor areas. At close range, the irregular patterns of his coat and the extraordinary flexibility of his neck become especially striking.

His appeal goes beyond proximity. Shingo offers a chance to watch how a giraffe selects food, explores its environment and communicates through very subtle posture. His silhouette belongs naturally to the lodge landscape and gives an individual identity to a setting where animals are more than scenery.
