About this park
Areál Mladé Buky, a four-season family resort in the Krkonoše Mountains
Areál Mladé Buky is a leisure resort in Kalná Voda, near Mladé Buky and Trutnov, in the Czech Krkonoše Mountains. It is designed for families who want an active mountain outing rather than a classic large theme park: summer play areas, an alpine coaster, bike trails, winter skiing, food stops and practical services are grouped around the same resort area.
The best-known year-round highlight is Bobovka Buky, the alpine coaster also listed by coaster sources as Berta. The official visitor information describes it as the longest bobsleigh track in the Krkonoše region, with a route of almost 1,500 metres, two 360-degree carousels, banked turns, small humps and a maximum speed of about 40 km/h. Children can ride from age 3 with an adult, and from age 8 on their own.
In the warmer months, Hříčky Buky adds a large outdoor children’s adventure area with water channels, wheels, pools, trampolines, slides, tubing and play towers. Bike Buky brings a lift-served family trail centre with routes for beginners and more confident riders, while Ski Buky turns the site into a compact ski resort for children, beginners and intermediate skiers in winter.
The resort is therefore especially useful for families planning a flexible half-day or full-day visit: younger children can focus on Hříčky, coaster fans can ride Berta, active visitors can use the bike or ski facilities, and food or rental services are available on site. Opening times and seasonal activities vary, so visitors should check the current resort information before travelling.
