In 2014, Chiapas – DIE Wasserbahn deeply renewed Phantasialand’s water-ride offering. The attraction quickly became one of the strongest landmarks of the Mexico area and one of the park’s most visible projects of the 2010s.

A water ride designed like a grand stage set

With Chiapas, the Mexico area gained a water ride that is far more spectacular and staged than the older installations it replaced. The layout, the relief work, the facades and the soundtrack all help give the whole project an immediately recognisable identity.

Beyond its statistics and its very striking drop, Chiapas matters in the park’s history because it once again shows the desire to reshape an entire area around a single major attraction. For Phantasialand, it is one of the emblematic projects of the 2010s.
