Description

A temple rising above the trees

Pagode takes the form of a richly decorated Thai temple situated at the water's edge. As it awakens, its massive golden silhouette rises entirely above the treetops. The slow movement allows the landscape to gradually unfold, as if the temple were gently leaving the shore to float in the sky.

From the summit, the realms of Efteling can be viewed in their entirety: lakes, woods, attraction roofs, and hotels appear as parts of a single, unified territory. The rotation constantly shifts the perspective, revealing how much the park’s coherence relies on the vegetation that links its vastly different architectural styles.

A panoramic attraction turned landscape sculpture

Even when stationary, Pagode remains a prominent landmark thanks to its golden silhouette and lakeside location. Its architecture transforms a panoramic view into an imaginary journey. This blend of contemplation and monumental setting is quintessentially Efteling: the spectacle arises from a wondrous temple precisely placed within the landscape.
