Missie Luminar

A mission towards the light announced for 2029

Missie Luminar will be born in a nineteenth-century scientific institute on the Island of the Five Senses. A team of ‘missionauts’ will prepare an expedition deemed impossible: to cross the barrier of light. Experiments, natural phenomena and the desire for discovery will give the departure the scale of a great tale of exploration.

Efteling promises an aerial journey in which momentum, weightlessness and surprises will turn this scientific quest into a wondrous adventure. The project has yet to be revealed in its final form; its characters, music and setting will show how the institute transforms scholarly ambition into a journey towards the unknown.

A new story on the Island of the Five Senses

Scheduled for 2029, Missie Luminar will join the House of the Five Senses, Efteling Grand Hotel, Efteling Theater and Aquanura in a territory associated with arrival and departure. Its place near the entrance will give sky and light a new role in the park’s opening landscape without breaking with the landmarks already established around the lake.
