Young miners put to the test

Hooghmoed extends the world of Baron 1898 to the scale of the mine’s apprentices. Two towers stand near Gustave Hooghmoed’s buildings, among bricks, tools and traces of underground work. The name recalls the baron’s pride, but the adventure adopts a more playful and accessible tone.

As the square falls away, the mine roofs and the great plunge nearby appear from a new angle. Anticipation, upward bursts and returns towards the ground form a small shared test of courage. The two groups watch and encourage one another, bringing new life to this industrial corner.

A new chapter in the baron’s shadow

Rather than imitate Baron 1898, Hooghmoed tells another side of the same territory: that of young workers drawn by adventure and coveted gold. The coherence of its setting, name and atmosphere allows this family attraction to exist as a genuine scene in the mining village.
