Description

A paddle steamer on a Bavarian lake

Raddampfer invites visitors aboard for a calm journey through the landscape of Bayern-Park. The large vessel moves across the lake beneath its clearly visible red paddle wheel, giving passengers time to look towards the banks, gardens and miniature landmarks placed around the water.

A journey past castles and familiar scenery

The route passes interpretations of Neuschwanstein, Linderhof and its park, then continues beside the island chapel of St. Bartholomä and the Bavaria statue. These landmarks give the trip a cultural and romantic character closer to a sightseeing cruise than a conventional amusement ride.

The gentle pace creates a genuine pause between more active attractions. The boat also has a story of its own: built specifically for the park, it first completed a trial voyage on the Chiemsee before travelling to Lower Bavaria. Raddampfer therefore serves both as a way to discover the scenery and as a landmark attraction in its own right.
