From Tretbahn Mäuserennen to HehnaHutschn

A children’s race operating since 2005

Tretbahn Mäuserennen opens in 2005 with small vehicles powered by the riders themselves. The mouse theme turns the effort of pedalling into a light family race, without a motor setting the speed. For almost twenty seasons, the ride belongs to the experiences in which children directly create the movement. The 2024 season becomes its last. Its removal does not lead to a simple upgrade: groundworks begin in September and the first foundations announce an installation of a completely different scale.

A twelve-metre Wild Swing takes its place

The new project is an ART Engineering Wild Swing. Its gondola carries sixteen people and rises to around twelve metres without inverting. The movement therefore remains aimed at families, although it completely changes the scale of the former site. The first riders board on 7 June 2025 at Pentecost. The ride begins operating before every part of its setting is complete: the park opens the machine and then continues developing the henhouse, characters and details that will give the area its finished identity.

The completed scenery becomes a park milestone

During the winter of 2025-2026, the final timber cladding completes the scenery. The henhouse contains dozens of sculpted chickens, humorous scenes and five fountains that respond as the gondola passes. On 21 May 2026, a formal ceremony gathers around one hundred guests for the blessing of the ride and the cutting of the ribbon. The transformation is then complete: a small pedal-powered race has become a taller and more visible attraction, while still being built around family participation and the rural history of the grounds.
