Description
A royal journey across turquoise water
Rundbootfahrt begins in an elegant boarding hall where white-and-gold gondolas immediately establish the romantic mood. They then glide gently along the castle garden canals, passing box hedges, flowers and statues while the Barcarolle from The Tales of Hoffmann and Handel’s Largo accompany the journey.
From the garden into the castle grotto
The route winds towards the castle interior and its grotto, where paintings and decorative scenes continue the world of royal courts. König Ludwig II. and his cousin Elisabeth of Austria, widely known as Sissi, appear beside a gondola and wave to passing guests. The unhurried motion leaves enough time to notice each scene.
Even crossing the bridge above the waterways becomes part of the experience before boarding. On the water, gentle rocking, classical music and carefully arranged gardens create an intentionally peaceful moment. Rundbootfahrt durch Schloss und Grotte holds a distinctive place in Bayern-Park: not a ride for speed, but a decorative and musical interlude that fully embraces its romantic character.
