Description

Japanese deer with a changing coat

Bayern-Park’s sika deer have a more slender outline than the large red deer. Their coat can show warm reddish tones and pale spots before becoming darker and more uniform in winter. The males carry lighter antlers that add to their elegant appearance.

Curiosity bringing them close to the fence

Sika deer live in small groups and pay close attention to everything around them. Their confident nature often brings them towards visitors, where they pause to watch before returning to graze. That closeness gives the enclosure a gentle atmosphere and makes it easy to notice their eyes, coat and delicate movement.
