Description

Description

Surrounded by mine scenery and false treasure, the gondolas of La Ruée vers l’Or enter a rotation that soon becomes difficult to anticipate. The main platform carries the entire ride while every vehicle spins freely according to its own momentum. The same sequence may therefore be experienced facing the centre, looking toward the paths or suddenly travelling with the movement behind the passengers.

Repeated changes of orientation combine with the acceleration of the wider rotation. Vehicles draw closer, move apart and return with a different energy, making it seem as though Black Jack has completely lost control of his hunt for gold.

The creaking floor, glowing treasure and moving gondolas form a lively scene in Le Canyon du Color’Ado. La Ruée vers l’Or does not build its identity around height, but around layered rotations and the constant uncertainty of which direction the next turn will take.
