Description
The Big Easy
The Big Easy was a Ferris wheel overlooking the park lake in Pontchartrain Beach at Six Flags New Orleans. It belongs to the short active life of the park, when Jazzland and then Six Flags tried to build a regional destination around Louisiana themes, family rides, water attractions and larger coasters.
The Big Easy became one of the most recognizable silhouettes of the abandoned park. The location is kept visible as historical context, not as an operating attraction. It helps explain what guests could find at the park before Hurricane Katrina and how the former line-up changed after closure.
Because the site has gone through long abandonment, salvage, relocation and demolition phases, exact current remains can differ from the original visitor experience.
