Pontchartrain Beach was one of the themed areas that helped structure a visit to Six Flags New Orleans during its operating years. This area recalled the older Pontchartrain Beach amusement park and gathered several landmark rides around the lakefront side of the park.
Today the area is useful mainly as historical context, because it helps place the former rides, restaurants, shops and show buildings within the original loop around Crescent City Basin.
