Familiepark Drievliet

A historic family park beside The Hague

Familiepark Drievliet occupies the former Drievliet country estate between The Hague and Rijswijk. Opened to the public by the Faaij family in 1938, it grew from gardens, play areas and early rides while retaining a compact scale. Today it brings together more than forty attractions, playgrounds and shows, with families at the centre of the experience.

The collection spans several generations. The Monorail has crossed above the park since 1968, while Kopermijn, Twistrix, Dynamite Express and Formule X chart more recent stages in its development. Water rides, carousels, the historic maze and play spaces for younger children give Drievliet a broader identity than a thrill park alone.

Five districts with distinct settings

Five districts each give the park a distinct character. Pelikaan Pier evokes Daan Pelikaanʼs harbour, Kakelhoeve adopts a farmyard atmosphere, and Exploratorium develops the inventions of Chip and Charlie. Papegaai Baai and Dynamite City complete the ensemble with pirate and mining-town worlds.

A park in transformation

Since joining Looping in 2024, Drievliet has gradually renewed its scenery and offering. The 2026 season became an important milestone with StoomCycloon, the new Pelikaan Pier entrance, Juttersnest playground and the Chip & Charlie op Stoom show. Together they give the parkʼs characters a stronger role and connect individual attractions through shared stories.

Drievlietʼs identity now rests on the meeting of historic traces and contemporary investment. The maze recalls its early decades, the Monorail preserves a familiar silhouette above the paths, and the new districts establish a visual language intended to grow over future seasons.
