Cá đuối moves through broad fins extending along both sides of the body. Their regular undulation creates the impression of slow flight, very different from the propulsion of streamlined fish. When a ray comes close to the glass or passes above the tunnel, its pale underside and long tail become especially visible.
It may follow the bottom, rise through the water or cross the tank in wide curves. These changes in height continually renew the viewpoint.
