A strong presence in the older park
Silbermine embodied a more western, underground and narrative side of Phantasialand. Visitors travelled through a large mine and village setting in a ride that relied more on atmosphere and scenes than on speed.
What the ride still tells us
It recalls the era of large scenic rides filled with animatronics, able to last a long time and build an entire world inside a building.
Its closure goes with the disappearance of Silver City and the birth of Klugheim, a change that neatly sums up the park’s modern transformation.
