The Lion King - future immersive world

The Pride Lands begin to take shape

The future Lion King world will bring the animated film to the banks of Adventure Bay. Pride Rock is planned as the defining silhouette, surrounded by a savanna where planting, landforms and architecture will evoke Simba’s homeland. Announced in 2024 and under construction since autumn 2025, the expansion is the next chapter in the growth of Disney Adventure World.

Its central attraction will follow Simba’s journey through scenes and songs from the 1994 film. A waterborne adventure will lead beneath Pride Rock and bring several characters to life through animated figures, including Scar in a confrontation inspired by the story’s climax. The details released so far describe a family narrative shaped by landscape, music and water.

A project without a final name

Disneyland Paris currently describes the development as the first immersive world devoted to The Lion King, without announcing a final public name or opening date. Its identity must therefore remain tied to confirmed information: construction is under way, the land will rise near World of Frozen and the water attraction will form its centrepiece. Future restaurants, shops or entertainment have not yet been detailed and are not treated as certain experiences.

World Premiere

Hollywood beneath a star-filled sky

World Premiere turns the entrance to Disney Adventure World into a covered Hollywood boulevard. The vast building once known as Disney Studio 1 retains its role as a passageway, but now tells the story of a glamorous film premiere. Palm trees, pavement stars, glowing signs and façades inspired by Los Angeles cinemas create a permanent nighttime setting, whatever the weather or daylight outside.

References are woven into the architecture as well as the windows. The Disney Theater closes the view with its large illuminated sign, while the storefronts recall different periods of American entertainment. This indoor street no longer presents a working film set: it places its audience outside the theatres, at the moment when the city comes alive and a new picture is about to be unveiled.

The threshold to the park’s worlds

The Hollywood Gardens Restaurant, Searchlight and Mickey’s of Hollywood Boutique extend the setting through terraces, counters and classic department-store styling. Beyond the building, World Premiere Plaza continues the theatrical theme. The area therefore works as a coherent prologue, connecting the park’s cinematic memory with its present-day Disney, Pixar and Marvel worlds.

World Premiere Plaza

An open-air theatre district

World Premiere Plaza extends the Hollywood boulevard into a square devoted to live entertainment. Art Deco lines, colourful murals and elegant street furniture recall Broadway, London’s West End and the great theatre districts of major cities. Above the ensemble, the unsettling outline of the Hollywood Tower Hotel is a reminder that performance here can also become a supernatural story.

Several venues with distinct personalities surround the plaza. Animagique Theater presents Mickey and the Magician, Studio Theater gives Pixar stories a musical scale in TOGETHER, and Studio D houses Minnie’s Dream Factory and Stitch Live!. Animation Academy maintains a direct connection with drawing and with the creative gestures that bring familiar characters to life.

The second park’s stage heritage

The area brings together different periods in the park’s history. CinéMagique, Animagique and earlier Studio D productions have made way for newer shows without erasing the original purpose of the buildings. Theater of the Stars provides a broad outdoor stage for seasonal productions, including Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland, whose music, acrobatics and BMX performances recast Wonderland through a vivid pop-rock language.

Adventure Way

A promenade beside Adventure Bay

Adventure Way is the landscaped main avenue of Disney Adventure World. It connects World Premiere Plaza with the Pixar, Marvel and Frozen worlds while opening the park onto Adventure Bay. A double row of trees, lit after dark by countless small lights, follows the lakeside and softens the transition between theatres, themed gardens and the more immersive architecture beyond.

Each garden develops a distinct story. Toy Story Garden plays with topiary and the enlarged scale of a toy world, Gazebo Garden pairs an elegant pavilion with character statues, and Tangled Garden surrounds a pond recalling Rapunzel’s boat. Raiponce Tangled Spin extends that atmosphere beneath floating lanterns, while Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings is bringing a new landscape inspired by Up to the opposite side of the avenue.

The park’s landscaped and festive heart

Restaurants, kiosks and terraces line the shore, from venues inspired by The Aristocats to Regal View Restaurant & Lounge facing the lake. The promenade also becomes a stage: Mary Poppins appears with the Pearly Band, the Disney Princess Cavalcade follows the water and Disney Cascade of Lights transforms Adventure Bay at night. Nature, architecture and performance give the avenue its own identity.

Worlds of Pixar

Pixar shifts colour and scale

Worlds of Pixar brings together several settings that retain their own visual languages. Around Crush’s Coaster, marine façades and the East Australian Current evoke Finding Nemo. Cars Quatre Roues Rallye and Cars ROAD TRIP then introduce the roadside humour of Radiator Springs through playful signs, coloured metalwork and landscapes drawn from the American West.

Toy Story Playland reverses the usual proportions: lamps, building blocks, soldiers and game pieces become enormous, as though everyone had been reduced to the size of a toy. RC Racer, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop follow that idea through instantly recognisable shapes. Encounters with Woody, Bo Peep and their friends extend the feeling of stepping into a toy box that has suddenly come alive.

Paris through Rémy’s eyes

Place de Rémy has a different identity, inspired by a Parisian square whose details have been deliberately enlarged. Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy carries the story into Gusteau’s kitchens, while Bistrot Chez Rémy turns corks, plates and cutlery into dining-room scenery. Chez Marianne completes the square with a distinctly Parisian shop. Each world remains clearly defined without losing the shared thread of Pixar imagination.

Marvel Avengers Campus

A campus where heroes act in the present

Marvel Avengers Campus imagines a former Paris-based S.H.I.E.L.D. facility transformed by Tony Stark into a recruitment and training centre. Laboratories, workshops and a headquarters form a contemporary setting that always appears active. F.R.I.D.A.Y. watches from the façade while the Avengers and their allies emerge in the streets, on the rooftops and around the campus gateway.

Its two attractions give new recruits an active role. Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure stages a Spider-Bot outbreak inside a workshop created for young inventors. Avengers Assemble: Flight Force launches a cosmic mission with Iron Man and Captain Marvel. Encounters at Hero Training Center and live appearances outdoors extend the same narrative rather than separating the characters from the land around them.

An industrial identity reshaped for heroes

Opened in 2022, the campus combines metal, glass, operational signage and flashes of colour associated with different Marvel teams. PYM Kitchen turns particle science into a dining theme, Stark Factory occupies a former workshop and Training Grounds brings several counters together. Mission Equipment completes the setting with heroic uniforms and emblems. The area feels less like a static display than a working base, crossed by alerts, training exercises and unexpected arrivals.

World of Frozen

The kingdom of Arendelle beside the water

World of Frozen extends the landscapes of the films into a Nordic village set between the bay and the North Mountain. The castle, harbour, painted façades and clock tower form an inhabited community, while Elsa’s Ice Palace crowns the distant ridge. Carved timber, stone and floral patterns give each house an identity connected to the people of the kingdom.

Frozen Ever After moves through familiar chapters in the story of Anna, Elsa and Olaf, from the snowy forest to the ice palace. A Celebration in Arendelle brings music and characters into the village. Inside Arendelle Castle, Anna and Elsa receive their guests among portraits and objects that recall their childhood and the history of their family.

A story carried by small details

Opened in 2026, the world is defined by more than its largest landmarks. Nordic Crowns Tavern has the warmth of a kingdom gathering place, Arendelle Boutique tells the story of a pair of toy makers, and Fjord View Shop stands close to the harbour. Signs, sleighs, crates and crafted objects connect these locations to one community. That continuity turns Arendelle’s scenery into a narrative stretching from the quays to the snowy slopes.
