DippieDoe, from indoor hall to family park
A quarter-century of growth around play
Since 1999, DippieDoe has connected indoor play, a beach and family rides in grounds shaped step by step.
Back to timelineFrom indoor playground to amusement park
DippieDoe begins in 1999 around a first indoor playground in Best. That origin is still visible today: the shelter is not merely a rainy-day fallback, but one of the park’s two faces and the starting point of its family identity.
A second hall and then outdoor attractions gradually change the site’s scale. Binnenhaven keeps physical play, gentle heights and toddler spaces, while Buitenhaven opens the landscape towards water, sand and broader movement.
Roller coasters at a child’s scale
Zeeslang, arriving in 2005, gives the park its first large roller-coaster silhouette. Tyfoon follows in 2011 with a livelier course, while Dolle Pier becomes an instantly recognisable figure in 2018. Together they give shape to a park still designed for family discovery.
The 2018 redevelopment marks a wider turning point: seven additions, renewed spaces and a clearer reading of the grounds. Later additions do not merely inflate the count; Dollybots, Piratengolf and Choco Loco each bring a different kind of play.
Sand as a new setting
Dwaalduin opens in 2025 as a large place to climb, slide and choose one’s own route. Sand, ropes and timber forms naturally continue the neighbouring beach. This freedom of play recalls DippieDoe’s origin while giving it a contemporary setting.
That same year, Dippie becomes the park’s first mascot. The character gives the place a face without erasing its simplicity: DippieDoe remains a regional park where a hall, a beach and outdoor attractions form one human-scale story.
