Rulantica is the water world of Europa-Park Resort in Rust. Opened in 2019, it builds an original Scandinavian mythology around Snorri, a curious blue octopus, sea creatures and settlements shaped by the elements. Monumental architecture, dark timber, rock, mist and carefully directed light give the indoor and outdoor spaces one continuous identity.
Fourteen themed areas reveal distinct sides of the island. Vinterhal hides large slides in an icy landscape, Rangnakor resembles a Nordic city rising over several levels, while Trølldal and Snorri Strand welcome younger explorers. Skog Lagune, Frigg Tempel and the gentle current of Snorri’s Saga bring quieter moods without leaving Rulantica’s story behind.
Experiences range from the twin courses of Hugin and Munin to the striking starts of Dugdrob and Vildfål. Vildstrøm recreates a lively natural river, Svalgurok forms a vast outdoor play and slide complex, and Vikingløp sends several racers down side by side beneath the Nordiskturn tower. The result balances thrills, shared play and relaxed bathing.
In the warmer months, Dynstrønd extends the island outdoors with pools such as Svømmepøl and broad views across the Rust landscape. Part of this offer is seasonal and weather-dependent. Indoors, the controlled climate keeps the main world open throughout the year, separate from the changing conditions of the Upper Rhine plain.
Hyggedal is Rulantica’s calmer shore, with saunas, a steam bath and a panoramic bar. Restaurants, cafés, swim-up bars and shops carry the Nordic language into their names and settings. That attention to atmosphere, steadily expanded since opening, makes Rulantica more than a collection of pools: it is a water destination told as a world of its own.
