A family park born around storks

Cigoland has welcomed families in Kintzheim since 7 July 1974. Jean-Pierre Willmann created the site to entertain children while helping the white stork return to Alsace, where it had become very rare.

That story remains visible in the nests, animal areas and museum devoted to the emblematic bird. Rides sit among orchards, Alsatian farm buildings and gardens where observing nature matters as much as play.

Experiences designed for young children

The Mine Train, La Cigogne monorail, canoes, galloping horses, vintage cars and water play form a gentle line-up mainly aimed at families with children aged two to twelve. Two daily circus shows and the immersive Noody Studio cinema broaden the day.

Since 2023, the Enchanted Forest has offered a broad world of play powered by human movement. Le Pommier, a tall apple-gondola chair swing opened in 2025, continues the blend of local imagination and shared fun.

A family company rooted in Alsace

The Willmann family still runs Cigoland and develops the park alongside its restaurants, two hotels and family services. That continuity gives the destination a strongly regional identity, far removed from a large thrill park.
