The storybook heart behind the castle
Fantasyland begins beneath the arches of Castle of Magical Dreams, then opens onto the carousel, Mad Hatter cups and Dumbo’s flights. Colourful façades keep the scale of a storybook village, while the Lantau ridge appears between the castle towers and keeps the landscape firmly rooted in Hong Kong.
Classics with a genuine stage history
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey’s PhilharMagic and “it’s a small world” offer three very different readings of Disney’s repertoire. Fairy Tale Forest favours models, gardens and miniature scenes; Fantasy Gardens gives shaded pavilions to character encounters.
Disney’s Storybook Theater carries the land’s performance history: The Golden Mickeys preceded Mickey and the Wondrous Book on its stage. Fantasyland therefore holds a living-theatre memory as strong as that of its rides, now extended by The Royal Reception Hall at the foot of the transformed castle.
