Burg Fellbach: from water pool to indoor adventure hall

Before the hall, the bumper boats

From Bayern-Park’s early years, Bumper Boote occupied a pool where visitors controlled their own small boats. The ride remained in operation through the 2008 season. Its removal represented more than a simple replacement. The park exchanged an outdoor water activity for a facility able to receive families when rain or strong heat made the paths less comfortable.

A castle divided between past and future

Burg Fellbach opened in 2009 and gradually developed into a 1,200 m² indoor area. Its central idea is a clear contrast. The medieval side contains a fortress, soft-ball cannons, construction play and physical activities. The other half looks towards space, with planets, coloured lighting, compact rides and a replica orbital station built by the park team. This prevents the hall from feeling like a warehouse of unrelated games: two distinct environments give the exploration a clear setting.

A transformation that changes the pace of the day

An archive photograph taken in 2011 shows Burg Fellbach shortly after the transformation. Today, the hall remains an important anchor. It extends the visit when the weather changes, but its activities also justify a stop on a sunny day. The move from bumper boats to this indoor complex illustrates how Bayern-Park reuses its sites. The old pool did not simply disappear; it became the foundation for an experience of a completely different kind.
