Description

A sunny lemur from Madagascar

The brown lemur brings a softer, more playful side to Bellewaerde’s Savanne. Originally from Madagascar, this primate is especially interesting to watch because it lives in groups, moves with agility and often seems alert to everything happening around it.

For visitors, the appeal is in the details: the way the lemurs sit, move, interact and search their surroundings. It is a calm animal encounter, but one that rewards patience. Families who slow down for a few minutes may notice social behaviour, small gestures and a very different rhythm from the larger animals in the same area.

Why visitors will like it

  • A lively but peaceful animal to observe between bigger species.
  • A good opportunity to talk with children about Madagascar and group life.
  • A charming stop for visitors who enjoy watching animal behaviour.
