About this park

A park where rides and animals share the same landscape

A day at Bellewaerde is not simply a race from one ride to the next. Paths cross generous planted spaces, follow stretches of water and move between clearly different worlds, while the sound of coasters sometimes blends with calls from the birds. This meeting of amusement park and animal park gives Bellewaerde a character that is easy to recognise.

The experience changes noticeably from one area to another. Mundo Amazonia is shaped by water, vegetation and adventure; Mexico gathers some of the livelier rides; India combines big cats, a safari train and a rapid river; Jungle invites guests to slow down and watch the animals. Canada opens around the lake, while KidsPark gives younger children rides and play spaces made for their scale.

Different kinds of excitement along the way

Roller coasters, water rides, family attractions, play areas and gentler journeys follow one another naturally. Amazonia delivers a striking water adventure, Wakala winds above the wooded terrain, Niagara builds toward a huge splash, and Jungle Mission offers a calmer boat journey. The rhythm can shift from intense to peaceful without the park ever feeling disconnected.

Animals are part of the visit, not a separate chapter

Lions, Amur tigers, giraffes, zebras, lemurs, macaws, capybaras and many other species are not hidden away in one isolated corner. They accompany several parts of the walk and reflect Bellewaerde’s unusual history. Some are discovered from the paths, others during a ride, creating a pace unlike that of a conventional amusement park.

Bellewaerde works especially well for families looking for a full day out, but it also has plenty for thrill seekers, animal lovers and visitors who enjoy landscaped parks. Its appeal comes less from a single headline ride than from the balance between adventure, observation, water, greenery and time spent together.
