Overview

About this park

An Asian park beside the Hàn River

Asia Park occupied a large riverside site south of central Đà Nẵng for eleven years. Opened on 18 July 2014, the destination brought together an amusement park, a cultural route devoted to ten Asian countries and a central area anchored by the Sun Wheel.

Rides stood among gardens, pavilions and interpretations of regional landmarks. The great gate inspired by Huế, the many-faced Clock Tower, the Merlion, dragon boats and the Angkor replica created an intentionally varied skyline, shaped in part by architect Bill Bensley.

Attractions that became Đà Nẵng landmarks

The towering Sun Wheel gave the park its defining night-time silhouette. Around it were roller coasters including Queen Cobra, Port of Sky Treasure, Paradise Fall, Garuda Valley and Highway Boat, alongside Golden Sky Tower, Singapore Sling, a monorail and a broad collection of family rides.

The identity changed while retaining that original fabric. Asia Park also operated as Sun World Danang Wonders, then entered a new chapter in June 2024 as Da Nang Downtown, adding a night market, new performances and a more contemporary urban visual language.

The end of one era and a changing site

The attractions stopped receiving the public on 3 September 2025. Sun Group has since begun a major cultural, commercial and event-led redevelopment of the land. This record therefore preserves the closed park, its inventory and its lasting place in the cityscape without suggesting that the former destination is still operating.
