About this park
The original Six Flags park in Texas
Six Flags Over Texas is the historic park that gave the Six Flags name its meaning. Located in Arlington between Dallas and Fort Worth, it combines classic themed areas, major roller coasters, family attractions, indoor adventures, live entertainment and long-running icons such as the Oil Derrick and Runaway Mine Train.
The park is especially useful for visitors who want a full day with several rhythms: high-speed coasters such as Titan, New Texas Giant and Mr. Freeze, water moments such as AQUAMAN: Power Wave and Roaring Rapids, dark or scenic rides, children’s areas and places to stop for food or shopping.
Its name originally referred to the six flags that have flown over Texas, and that historic idea still helps explain the different themed districts found around the park. The lineup has changed many times since opening, but the destination remains one of the most important Six Flags sites for understanding the chain’s identity.
For a visit, the official app remains essential because operations can vary by date, weather, maintenance and the opening schedule of newer attractions such as Tormenta Rampaging Run.
