Plopsaland Belgium occupies a De Panne site shaped by almost a century of leisure. The Bee Palace opened in 1935 grew into Meli Park, before the grounds welcomed the public again on 29 April 2000 beneath the colours of Studio 100. That continuity can still be felt in a landscape where Flemish characters meet traces of an older estate.
The park unfolds through eleven worlds with strongly defined identities. Plop’s small-scale garden, the Big and Betsy farm, the giant flowers of Mayaland Indoor, the Circus Bumba big top and Prinsessia’s pink castle create settings made for young children without excluding the adults who share them.
The headline rides reveal another side of the park. Anubis The Ride rises behind its mysterious house, Heidi The Ride sends the sound of timber through the chalets, Draconis crosses Schemermeer behind its dragon and The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland draws its purple track through an instantly recognisable musical world.
Water and indoor spaces complete the range. DinoSplash and SuperSplash turn splashes into landscapes, while Mayaland Indoor and Circus Bumba extend the park’s worlds beneath broad roofs. The themed areas are more than groups of rides: shops, restaurants, gardens, façades and characters keep a shared story alive between each attraction.
Plopsaqua De Panne, Studio 100 Theater, the Theater Hotel, the Village and outdoor accommodation have turned the surrounding site into a complete Belgian coast destination. Recent additions from Circus Bumba to Draconis and Wickie’s Wervelwind continue a transformation begun with Meli without erasing the memory of the place.
