    The Monorail begins crossing above the park

    Built by the Ypres company Mahieu, the elevated circuit offers an unusual view over Jungle and Frontier City. Its trains become a familiar sight above the paths.

    Wear brings Monorail operations to an end

    After twenty-four seasons, material fatigue makes restoration impractical. The elevated circuit closes, ending one of the most distinctive views across the park.

  3. 2008Dismantling

    The Monorail is dismantled

    Track, supports and stations disappear in the year after closure. Dismantling removes an infrastructure that had crossed several areas for almost a quarter of a century.
