Coleoz’Arbres, Bagatelle’s Jet Star from the Prater

In Bagatelle’s history, Coleoz’Arbres holds a particular place: that of a relocated roller coaster, already carrying a past before it ever reached the Pas-de-Calais. The ride was not born on the Côte d’Opale; it came from Vienna’s Prater, where it had operated as Cortina Bob.

Its model, Schwarzkopf’s Jet Star, belongs to a generation of compact steel roller coasters designed to deliver a strong rhythm within a limited footprint. That identity explains the mark the ride left behind: a dense silhouette, an energetic layout and a very readable presence in the park landscape.

At Bagatelle, the ride arrived in the mid-1990s, first under the Jet Star identity before taking the name Coleoz’Arbres. Its closure in 2007 ended one roller coaster chapter at the park, but not its memory: it remains tied to a period when Bagatelle enriched its offer with rides shaped by fairground heritage and major European manufacturers.

Keeping Coleoz’Arbres in the park’s timeline therefore tells more than the story of a former ride. It reflects the circulation of roller coasters across Europe, the adaptation of travelling hardware to a regional park, and a time when Bagatelle was building its identity layer by layer.
